MFA in Creative Writing
a low residency program
There are no courses in the traditional sense, but rather writing modules and residencies. Four writing modules, each ten weeks long, are offered each academic year, two in the spring and two in the fall. Each module is under the direction of a faculty mentor with additional advice from members of the cadre of international readers. Students also comment on each other's writing in on-line workshops. There are no grades, but rather a pass-fail system.
Students must complete six modules in their genre and one module in Craft and Form module as the third in their program. The remaining module is an elective in which students work in another genre.
